Set to open in 2026, the Rochester Institute of Technology’s new Music Performance Theatre is a 750-seat, 40,000-square-foot landmark that will become a cornerstone of the region’s performing arts community.
Designed by renowned architect Michael Maltzan, with SWBR as architect of record, the $74 million complex features two balconies, a large rehearsal hall, and a fully restored century-old theater pipe organ.
Duraframe is proud to have contributed to this visionary project by supplying prefabricated steel framing systems that supported the structure’s intricate architectural design. In collaboration
with Accurate Acoustical Inc., Duraframe premanufactured custom wall panels utilizing DensGlass® Sheathing and 3M™ Air and Vapor Barrier 3015NP for the exterior cladding.
Duraframe also supplied significant quantities of Curv Trak, a specialized framing system designed for curved architectural elements — essential to the theater’s complex interior ceilings, wall assemblies, and acoustical clouds. These partnerships ensured precision, efficiency, and design integrity throughout every stage of construction.
